Built for the realities

Built for the realities of plaque making

Memorial work that deserves care

A memorial plaque isn't a banner — it's a family's grief turned into bronze. ShopFlow OS keeps every detail of the wording, dates, and family contact in one place so nothing gets misspelled and no one gets a surprise call asking 'what was the middle name again?'

Cast bronze, etched brass, sublimated aluminum

Cast bronze takes 6 weeks at the foundry. Etched brass runs in-house in 5 days. Sublimated aluminum ships next-day. Each substrate has its own production timeline and your software should know that.

Dedication and rededication scheduling

The unveiling is set for May 18th. The plaque has to be installed by May 16th, which means it has to ship by May 12th, which means foundry pour by April 1st. ShopFlow OS works backwards from the dedication date so you stop discovering deadlines you've already missed.

Multi-family and committee approvals

Memorial plaques often need sign-off from a spouse, an adult child, and a foundation board. The portal lets you collect all approvals separately and shows you who has and hasn't signed off.

Re-orders for matching campus plaques

A donor wall, a hall of fame, an annual award. ShopFlow OS stores the template so next year's plaque matches font, layout, and bronze finish exactly — no more 'is this the same as last year?' panic.

Square invoicing with deposit protocol

Most plaques need 50% to start because the bronze pour is non-refundable. ShopFlow OS generates the deposit invoice automatically when the proof is approved, so the foundry order never goes in unpaid.

The features plaque shops actually use daily

Proof versioning with family comments

Proof versioning with family comments

Every revision stamped with date, designer, and family member who requested the change. No more 'I never approved that spelling' arguments.

Production timeline with foundry lead times

The kanban shows which plaques are at the foundry, which are in-house etching, and which are ready to ship. Foundry ETA is right on the card.

Deposit invoices fire on proof approval. Balance invoices on shipment. No manual chasing, no awkward 'can you pay before the funeral?' conversations.

Order flow

How a memorial plaque order flows through ShopFlow OS

  1. 1. Family inquiry

Family reaches out — usually by phone. You take notes, dates, and dedication target into a new lead with care, not a generic web form.

  2. 2. Wording draft and proof

Designer drafts the layout. The family reviews in the portal, suggests a wording change, and approves V2.

  3. 3. Deposit and foundry order

Deposit invoice goes out automatically on proof approval. Once paid, you trigger the foundry pour with a PO.

  4. 4. Casting and finishing

Foundry confirms ETA. Plaque comes back, gets patina applied, then mounted to a granite or wood backer in your shop.

  5. 5. Pre-dedication QC

Final QC against the approved proof — every letter, every date, every spelling. Photos sent to the family for one last sign-off.

  6. 6. Install or ship for unveiling

Plaque ships or is hand-delivered before the dedication. Balance invoiced; family is grateful; you feel like you did right by the work.

Plaque shop FAQ

Can ShopFlow OS handle both memorial and corporate recognition plaques?

Yes. Project types are configurable, so memorials run a calmer workflow with extended approval steps while corporate orders move on a faster, more transactional pipeline.

Do you store template plaques for annual recurring orders?

Yes. Save a finished project as a template. Next year's hall-of-fame plaque starts pre-filled with the right font, layout, finish, and supplier — just swap the name and approve.

What about working with foundries and outside vendors?

Add the foundry as a vendor on the project. Their lead time, contact, and PO number all live on the project so anyone covering for you can check status in one place.

Can families pay over the phone if they aren't tech-savvy?

Absolutely. The Square invoice can also be paid by reading a card over the phone, or you can take a check and mark the invoice paid manually. The portal is an option, not a requirement.
